You don’t feel like being an athlete on the TnR Competition floor? But you still want to be part of the event and the magic? That’s great because we got something for you: Be a member or our staff! We got a great choice of jobs for you!

The final takes place on the 28th and 29th of September 2024 at the Athletik Zentrum St.Gallen and without our staff – our amazing GreenTeamTnR💚 – this event won’t be possible. So we need you! As a member of our staff, you’re an important, essential part of the whole event. We have choice of jobs which you can choose from: whatever fits you best. And you can also choose one day or the whole weekend.

Choose „Become a volunteer“ within the link, set-up your profile on Circle21 and register by choosing your favourite job.

Jobs and shifts

• Assembly, disassembly (Aufbau, Abbau): You will be assembling the competition floor and the things we need around it. This job takes place on Friday afternoon and evening and on Sunday late afternoon.
• Check-in: You will register our athletes, making sure they are all set and get the goodie bags. Also, you will register the spectators, check their tickets or collect the entrance fee. This job takes place all day on Saturday and Sunday.
• Athlete and Area Management: You are the contact for the athletes as well as for the audience. You make sure ahtletes are on time in the warm-up area and on the competition floor. This job takes place all day on Saturday and Sunday.
• Equipment: You will set-up the competition floor for each workout and heat. You will clean the equipment after the workouts and you will help putting everything back after the whole event. This job takes place all day on Saturday and Sunday.
• Judge: You will assure the teams get their scores, you will make sure they move along the standards of the movements and workouts, you count and you take their time. This job takes place all day on Saturday and Sunday.
• Scoring: You are putting the scores in the system, verifying results making sure, the leaderboard is up to date. You are keen on working on the computer all day and you are super precise. This job takes place all day on Saturday and Sunday.
• Catering and refreshment: You are behind the bar, making sure the spectators and the atheltes are well fueled: making coffee, hot dogs and protein shakes, selling cakes and drinks. This job takes place all day on Saturday and Sunday.

We have also teams for paramedic, media and speaker. Those teams are already complete.

How it works

After your registration, you will get a confirmation E-Mail. About 3 – 4 weeks prior to the event, will get detailed information about your job. We will set-up an information page on our website where you find everything you need to know.

What you get

As a member of the GreenTeamTnR💚, you are as close to the competition floor and the magic as you can get. We love you and are very grateful for you being part of it. During the event, you will have snacks and drinks right next to the competition floor ready for you. For your working days, you will also get a lunch. You will get a new T-Shirt. Also, you will have fre entry all weekend and for each working day (Sat or Sun) you get one ticket for your +1 or whoever you want to give it to. And in late October 2024, we will invite you to our GreenTeamTnR-Event.

Online Qualifier

• Qualification fee: CHF 49 per team

• Changing partners during the qualification is possible. Workout results have to be calculated with the partner you want to participate in the final.
• Possibility to change partners after the invitation to the final: Both team members must have participated in the online qualification.

Cooperation with the Austrian Throwdown

1 Qualifier – 2 Competitions! TnR and the Austrian Throwdown have partnered up to offer you the chance to participate in two competitions with just one qualifier. What does it mean? If you go Elite, RX or Master 35+ at TnR2024, your qualifier videos can be submitted for the Austrian Throwdown as well, for the team and for the individual divisions.

You do the workouts once – and you can participate in two competitions. Just sign-up for both, TnR and the Austrian Throwdown, and upload your videos twice. This 2 for 1 is for the divisions Elite, RX and Master 35+. These divisions also exist within the Austrian Throwdown. RX at TnR is Intermediate at the Austrian Throwdown.

Divisions

TnR is a team competition, mixed teams of two in five divisions: Elite, RX, Intermediate, Scaled and Master 35+. The requirements for each divison are valid for the online qualifier. No matter where you stand, there’s an opportunity for you to compete, challenge yourself, and leave it all on the competition floor.

Elite and RX will have the same qualifier and one leaderboard. According to the team’s performance, it will then be an Elite- (rank 1 – 11) or an RX-Team (rank 12 – 35) at the final.

Requirements

To figure out which category suits you best, we have outlined the requirements for the category «Intermediate». If those numbers and movements look easy, your category will be «RX», if they look very challenging, your category will be «Scaled». If you are not only mastering all the movements but are also strong, then you are an «Elite»-Team. If you are mastering all movements and are over 35 on the 28th of September 2024, you can also opt for «Master 35+»

The Final

• All divisons will have the chance to participate in the final.
• There will be 11 + 1 spots for Elite, 24 for RX, 24 for Intermediate, 24 for Scaled and 12 for Masters 35+.
• All divisions work out over two days.
• Cashprizes in all categories for the podium spots.

Cashprice of at least CHF 10’000

With at least CHF 10,000 in cash prizes up for grabs, you can really make it count. In the Elite Division, the top will win at least CHF 2’500. The shares for all the podium spots have not been calculated yet, but they will for sure be moren than 2023.

Whether you’re aiming for the podium or simply striving to surpass your personal best, the opportunity to win your share of the prize pool adds an extra layer of excitement and motivation to the competition.

The final takes place in St. Gallen, featuring the biggest competition floor in Switzerland with more than 700m², at the Athletik Zentrum St. Gallen. A location that has everything you need as an athlete: Warm-up area, ahtlete area, enough changing rooms and showers, parking, close to public transport and hotels, modern, open and enough space for your fans. Also, your fans can look forward to stands very close to the competition floor, great fresh food, freshly brewed coffee and a vendor village.

This year, the equipment will be brought to you by Power Gears. They have a lot of experience in equipping events, they run their own event – the Austrian Throwdown. Wow, TnR2023 is already in the books… hard to believe how fast it went by. Our fourth edition brought you a new category, a new outdoor location, more teams in the final. THANK YOU all for making this possible.

140 athletes, around 60 members of our #Greenteamtnr💚 and our spectators made this years edition memorable. This year, our teams worked out on two days – all the categories performed in seven workouts, and the top five of each category moved on to the eight workout. The outdoor event took place a little outside of St. Gallen, on a farm where the athletes were taken with a shuttle.

70 teams in the final in 4 categories

The teams in the online qualification gave it their all to make it to the final. Athletes could choose between Elite, RX, Intermediate and Scaled. Each category has the chance to move on to the final – and to compete over two days. Wow, what a dedication. Thank you so much for your time and energy. The fitness level grows every year, this is incredibel. And so you guys even PRed in the final, with the workout „Big Weights“ – presented by cross equip: 1 RM Clean and 1 RM Snatch. Wow, what an energy! Congratulations to all of you who moved tons of weight and grew beyond themselves!

What a crew, our Greenteamtnr!

Besides the strong and fit athletes it was also our #Greenteamtnr💚 who made this year’s edition even possible. Nothing would be possible without them. They give their everything to create the best competition experience possible for the athletes. By supporting us in assembling everything, by catering for the athlete’s and specator’s needs, by carrying around tons of weight and making sure the workout goes as planned. A BIG HUGE THANK YOU FOR THIS UNBELIEVABLE EFFORT 💚

7 workouts for all teams, 8 workouts for the top 5

All teams performed 7 workouts, 4 on Saturday, 3 on Sunday. The top 5 of each category advanced to the final and last workout number 8. In the categories RX, Intermediate and Scaled, we had 20 teams in the final, for Elite, we offered 10 spots. Athletes proved their fitness in box jumps combined with snusters, an axle bar and heavy kettlebells, in a long gymastics challenge, a heavy sled, a 30 min AMRAP calories while the other partner runs an obstacle trailrun on the farm, a combination of ski, muscle-ups and shoulder to overhead, and a 1 RM clean and 1 RM snatch.

Congratulations to all the teams who were part of the final, and to those who made it to the final and earned the total of almost CHF 10’000 price money, split through all the podium spots in all categories. Besides the cashprice, the price bundle included:

The TOUGH’N’ROUGH 2023 final is around the corner: 30.09. and 01.10. We are pumped to have you for two days in St. Gallen and to offer you a challenging and great competition. Here you find all you need to know about the event, as athlete as well as spectators.

Entrance fee

Spectators can get their entry tickets beforehand or on-site: One-day-pass CHF 12, Weekend-pass CHF 18. ⁠Entry is free for kids/teens born in 2007 or later.

Workouts, Heats and Leaderboard

All teams will compete in seven workouts. The top five from each category will then advance to the final workout on sunday afternoon.

Spectator workout: Bring your gear to cheer

There will be a weightlifiting competition parallel to TnR2023 and next to our competition floor. It is open for anyone who is interested and it is super easy to participate. Grab the chance to not only watch but also lift – hosted by Athletik Sport Rorschach. Next to the competition floor, you will have the possibility to test your strength and technique in two lifts: Hang power clean and overhead squat. Qualifier on Saturday and Sunday, final on Sunday afternoon. Check out the details!

Location, arrival, parking, food and drinks

The final takes place at the Athletik Zentrum St. Gallen. Our venue is located at Parkstrasse 2, St. Gallen. There is a parking garage right underneath the location and there is street parking around the venue. And the public transport connection is great too.

We will cater for you as well. Food and drinks will be available on-site as well, Superfood Deli will have fresh food ready for you. You can pay with Twint, card and cash.

Vendor Village and DJ

Some of our partners will be on-site in our vendor village. You will find active wear from Swiss Designer Sport and Valued, mental coaching by Sprecher Mentalcoaching, vitamins by allsupps, and more. Furthermore, our DJ Alex Lore will make sure, the sound is on point.

Athletik Sport Rorschach hosts a weightlifting competition at TnR2023. Next to the competition floor, you will have the possibility to test your strength and technique in two lifts: Hang power clean and overhead squat.

How does it work?

On Saturday, between 09.30 and 11.30 as well as between 13.30 and 15.30 – and on Sunday between 09.30 and 11.30, there will be the qualifier. You can choose your slot to lift. The signing up happens on-site at their booth. Then, you lift heavy!
On Sunday between 13.30 and 15.30, the final will be held. The best athletes from both lifts will participate in the final.

• All athletes will participate in the two lifts: Hang power clean and overhead squat.
• You get three tries per lift.
• You need to warm-up individually and then, present yourself to the judge.
• Two categories: female and male
• The Ranking is done by Sinclair Points: you will be weighted before you lift.
• The Top 5 Athletes make it to the final on Sunday – and will get a price.
• Communication is done by Whatsapp – to let you know if you made it to the final.
• Entry fee: CHF 10, paid on-site cash or twint.
• Insurance: Athletes are responsible for the insurance, not TnR, not Athletik Sport Rorschach.
• Disclaimer: This weightlifiting competition is a side event and is not part of the events for the qualified teams.

You can choose between four categories this year: Elite, RX, Intermediate, Scaled. But what is the right category? Don’t worry, we have your back.

It can be hard to figure out what the right category is four your team. This is why we are giving you a little help for this, based on the previous TnR-Editions and on the CrossFit Games Open, Quarters and Semifinals. Besides that, we still have the requirements for each category, that help you figure out what suits your team best.

Elite at TnR2023

• If you have qualified for the Nobull CrossFit Games Semifinals (then, you sure know this already 😉) ➡ Elite at TnR2023.
• If you have easily qualified for the Nobull CrossFit Games Quarterfinals and have performed decently at them ➡ Elite at TnR2023.
• If your team has participated at TnR2022 and has placed in the top 10 RX ➡ Elite at TnR2023.

RX at TnR2023

• If you have made it to the CrossFit Games Quarterfinals ➡ RX at TnR2023.
• If you have performed all the Open Workouts as RX without a doubt ➡ RX at TnR2023.
• If your team has participated at TnR2022 and has placed in the top 20 Intermediate ➡ RX at TnR2023.

Intermediate at TnR2023

• If you have performed all the Open workouts RX, but with a little bit of struggle in some movements and some weights ➡ Intermediate at TnR2023.
• If your team has participated at TnR2022 and has placed in the top 10 Scaled ➡ Intermediate at TnR2023..

Scaled at TnR2023

• If you have performed all the Open workouts scaled ➡ Scaled at TnR2023.
• If your team has participated at TnR2022 and has placed in between rank 11 to rank 20 ➡ Scaled at TnR2023.
